StomaDad Was Created From a
Moment That Changed Everything.
One day, life was moving forward career, plans, momentum. The next, a cancer diagnosis led to ostomy surgery, and nothing looked the same. What followed wasn’t just a physical recovery it was a complete shift in identity, confidence, and how the world was experienced.
And in that moment, something was missing.
There were resources. There was medical information. But there weren’t enough real conversations. Not enough voices that reflected what it felt like to be an adult, to have a life already in motion, and suddenly have to redefine it. Not enough representation for people navigating this journey later in life, or within communities that often go unseen especially within the LGBTQ+ community.
So Stoma Dad was created.
What We Believe
We believe that living with a stoma is not the end of your story—it’s a turning point.
We believe in:
- Honest conversations over filtered narratives
- Practical guidance that actually helps in real life
- Representation that reflects the full diversity of our community
- Creating space for both struggle and growth
Most importantly, we believe that healing is not just physical it’s emotional, mental, and deeply personal.
What We Do
Stoma Dad is a platform built to support and empower people living with a stoma through:
- Storytelling – Real experiences that help you feel seen and understood
- Education – Clear, accessible information without overwhelming medical jargon
- Community – A place where no question is too small and no experience is dismissed
- Content – Social media, video, and the Stoma Dad Journal designed to inform and connect
Everything we create is grounded in lived experience because sometimes the most powerful support comes from someone who’s been there.
Who We Serve
Stoma Dad is for:
- Individuals living with a colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy
- Those preparing for surgery
- Survivors navigating life after cancer or chronic illness
- Caregivers, partners, and support networks
And it is intentionally inclusive of all identities across age, gender, and sexual orientation.
Why It Matters
Because too many people go through this feeling alone.
Because representation matters.
Because learning how to live again on your terms is possible.
Our Message
Be Kind to Yourself.
This journey isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress, patience, and rediscovering who you are one step at a time.
